Beat the August Heat!

According to the National Academy of Medicine, men are recommended to drink about 104 ounces of water a day, and women are supposed to consume about 72 ounces of water every single day. However, it is estimated that most people don’t even drink half that amount. One survey even found that about 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.

And with 2023 being reported as the hottest year on record, it is important to prioritize hydration as it is one of the most vital ways to combat the negative effects of heat-related issues such as fatigue, headaches, and dizziness.

In order to stay properly hydrated, first and foremost – be sure to drink the recommended amount of water daily. But remember, hydration is not just about absorbing water molecules, but also about the minerals found within water. Unfortunately in the modern world much of our water is stripped of the trace minerals that water typically has, and therefore additional sources of vitamins and minerals are important to achieve full hydration. We recommend eating nutritious whole foods with a variety of fruits and veggies, and be sure to supplement your diet with daily vitamins.

Lastly, if you’re still having difficulty maintaining hydration, come to K Wellness to receive a weekly IV drip. It’s the fastest and most efficient way to get all of your vitamins and minerals directing into your bloodstream while getting fully hydrated. With all of these great options, you should be able to manage the heat as the final days of Summer approach.
